Hyderabad
In a major relief to the innumerable commuters who frequently shuttle from Lalapet, Malkajgiri, and Marredpally areas to Secunderabad, the construction of the proposed RuB (Road under Bridge) at Tukaram Gate is all set to be completed before the end of February 2022.
The sources from GHMC say that works related to the Road under Bridge have already gained momentum. For example, the construction of retaining walls has been completed. The authorities are currently focusing on expediting works of the approach road.
Coming up near Lallaguda halt station, this RuB is 370 m long and has four lanes. The cost of construction of this RuB is around Rs 29.1 crore, which is carried out by the Railway Department and GHMC. The corporation is spending Rs 15.15 crore, while the remaining money is pumped by the railways. According to a senior official, as the level crossing here is frequently closed, vehicles have to wait for a long time. As a result, some of them take other routes and waste time. The new RuB will be helpful in such conditions.
Once the RuB is opened for the public, it will become an alternative route for those from Tarnaka and Moula Ali. This has been a long-pending project, and locals have been waiting for the completion of the RuB for several years.
