The last week, Nearby News has published a story about how international passengers are fleeced at Hyderabad Airport with costly RT-PCR tests. The tests here cost as much as 4,500 Rupees while there is a Government G.O. capping the price at 500 Rupees. A social activist, Vijay Gopal has complained about it to Shamshabad Police and the Health Department.
Taking note of the complaint, the Director of Public Health's office has dashed a letter to the airport authorities to ensure the law on the fee of RT-PCR is followed and boards are placed and also receipts are issued as per law. MapMyGenome is the Service Provider for RT-PCR tests at Hyderabad Airport.
The airport is also mandated to display a notice board with a Whatsapp number (9154170960) to complain about any deviation. Meanwhile, the passengers are demanding that strict action for fleecing them earlier and the extra charges should be recovered. In the wake of the Omicron variant scare, the Government of India mandates RT-PCR test reports for all passengers arriving from 'At-Risk' countries.
The @drgsrao office has also directed @RGIAHyd to take measures to ensure the law on fee of RTPCR is followed and boards are placed and also the receipts are issued as per law. Shame on you looters @mapmygenome you all deserve to be jailed. @psrgia_cyb @cyberabadpolice @cpcybd pic.twitter.com/22njYlUpGz
