The ad made with Allu Arjun in the lead by bike taxi aggregator Rapido will not be available for views from now. A city court has restrained Rapido from telecasting and promoting itself through a commercial that shows Telangana State Road Transport Corporation in an inappropriate manner.
The Xth Junior Civil Judge of the City Civil Court, Nampally, has restrained its successors, directors, employees, servants, agents, representatives from telecasting, broadcasting, streaming, reproducing, distributing, making available to the public and or communicating to the public the original and modified versions of the ad film on their websites or through the internet in any manner.
Additionally, the court has also ordered Google’s online video sharing platform YouTube to block access to both the original and modified versions of the commercial. In the ad by Rapido, Allu Arjun is seen suggesting that it was ‘uncomfortable and dangerous to travel in TSRTC buses by directly showing a TSRTC bus that was hired by Rapido from RTC for the ad.
TRSTC MD VC Sajjanar said TRSTC was a decades-old institution that is state-run and added that people must own it as their own.
