GHMC has got alerted by the detection of Omicron cases in Greater. As of Friday, nine Omicron cases were detected at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. The focus is already on advance arrangements to deal effectively with the arrival of the Third Wave. The first dose and the second dose vaccination process got intensified and a colony-wise vaccination drive is going on. In addition, 2173 public and private schools are being sanitized.
Containment zones are being made where the cases are detected. Arrangements are being made to spray sodium hypochlorite solution in those areas, their surroundings, densely populated areas, hospitals, institutes, and tourist areas, officials say. In addition to these, circle-wise home isolation centers are being set up.
Isolation centers are being set up at the rate of one per circle last year. Facilities such as beds, food, and toilets are provided in these centers. In addition, GHMC is engaged in collecting details of community halls, welfare halls, function halls, etc in each circle. They will be back up to the isolation centers. On the other hand, officials are also gearing up for awareness programs among the public about the importance of wearing masks and following other COVID safety measures.
