Hyderabad Book Fair opened at NTR Stadium in the city. The Book Fair was set up after two years due to the Corona Effect. However this year too, the corona seems to have an impact on the book fair. The number of bookstalls came down. There were over 300 book stalls at the fair each year. But only 200 stalls have been set up this year.
Various publishers and book houses from Hyderabad, Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, Tenali, Delhi, and Mumbai set up stalls offering a large collection from the classics of the yesteryears to the latest books of emerging writers of the decade. This year, the publishers and book houses from out of Telugu states did not show much enthusiasm to come.
Some book houses have even got out of business due to the pandemic. But then, the response from the book lovers is heart-warming. Huge crowds from young to old have thronged to NTR Stadium over the weekend to buy their favorite books. Apart from Telugu books, one can also find books in Urdu, English, Sanskrit, and some in Tamil and Kannada as well. The fair will be on till December 28th.
