Road accidents in the city have dropped drastically this year. When compared to the last four years, there has been a sharp decline in the limits of the Hyderabad Police Commissionerate this year. There were 2,367 road accidents in 2017, 2,540 in 2018, 2,493 in 2019 and 1,657 in 2021. The areas where road accidents are most prevalent have been examined and the possible causes have been identified and action has been taken. Also, the police are dealing harshly if motorists violate traffic rules. Vehicles are being seized and cases are being registered against them and they are being sent to jail. They are also being strict with drunk and driving cases. In addition to imposing hefty fines, 'attempt to murder' cases are also being registered.
