There are millions of Andhra voters who have votes in both the Telugu States. They cast their votes here and there whenever elections come. But now the central government has brought in the Electoral Laws (Amendment) Bill to check these double voters. With the mandatory link of voter and Aadhaar cards, bogus and multiple votes will no longer exist. According to estimates, the number of registered double, multiple, and bogus voters in the state is around 30 lakh,
They are mostly from AP. They have cast their vote in Telangana in 2018 and in AP in 2019. In 2014, after bifurcation, many Andhra voters who have their votes in their native have also registered their votes in Telangana. Most of them live in Hyderabad, Rangareddy, and Medchal districts. Since KCR went to snap polls in Telangana, elections happened here in 2018.
They have also voted in AP in 2019 when the state went for elections along with the General Elections across the country. We also see political parties of AP arranging special buses for such voters to get them vote in the elections there. With Aadhar-Voter Id linking, these double votes will be a thing of the past in the coming days.
