The Enforcement, Vigilance, and Disaster Management (EVDM) in GHMC on Monday fined several companies for setting up boards in violation of the regulations. Netizens complained via Twitter that a board of popular News Channel, TV9 had been erected above a certain height on a building on Banjara Hills Road No. 3.
Responding to the complaint, EVDM generated the e-challan by imposing a penalty of One Lakh Rupees. According to the new regulations of the Municipal Department, the names of companies and other boards should not be erected at a height of more than 15 feet. The board should not exceed 15 percent of the area in front of the building.
Popular Restaurant, Chutneys in KPHB was also fined Rs 1 lakh for a similar reason. GHMC also fined Amberpet MLA Kaleru Venkatesh for setting up flexis welcoming Minister K Taraka Ramarao for the foundation stone laying ceremony of Hussain Sagar Nala Retaining works. GHMC has imposed a penalty of Rs 15,000 to the MLA.
