This year, TSRTC (Telangana State Road Transport Corporation) will press as many as 4,318 special services for Sankranthi. The services will begin from January 7 and will continue till January 15. These special services are expected to clear the rush of passengers traveling this Sankranthi season from within Telangana and to Andhra Pradesh and other neighboring States. The TSRTC has also clarified that 1.5 times the normal fare would not be applicable.
Passengers can board buses from several locations, including Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station, Jubilee Bus Station, Central Bus Station, Lingampally, Miyapur Crossroads, KPHB, Ameerpet, Telephone Bhavan, LB Nagar, Jeedimetla, Aramghar, ECIL Crossroads, Uppal, and Tarnaka.
The special buses will be operated to destinations within Telangana such as Khammam, Nizamabad, Mahabubnagar, Warangal, Adilabad, Nalgonda, Medak, and Siddipet. In addition, buses will also travel to destinations in Andhra Pradesh such as Vijaywada, Guntur, Tenali, Gudivada, Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Nellore, Srikakulam, Tirupati, Ongole, and Nellore, among others.
Buses will travel towards Adilabad, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, and Medak from the Jubilee Bus Station. From Central Bus Station, buses will proceed towards Kurnool, Ananthapur, Nellore, Kadapa, and the Rayalaseema regions.
The TSRTC has asked passengers to book their tickets in advance online on their website.
Meanwhile, the TSTRC’s Greater Hyderabad Zone announced that buses would be available on hire for students from the colleges or schools where they study to their villages in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Buses on hire will be available from January 7 to January 15.
