The tweets made by Hero Siddharth on Badminton player Saina Nehwal are causing a stir. The hero made inappropriate remarks on her in the context of a security lapse in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent Punjab tour. Reacting to this on Twitter, Nehwal said that if there was a threat to the security of the Prime Minister, then no one in the country would be safe.
She alleged in the tweet that anarchists had targeted the Prime Minister. Hero Siddharth commented in an objectionable manner quoting the tweet. The National Women's Commission became serious about this and wrote a letter to the Maharashtra DGP recommending action on the actor. Rekha Sharma, chairperson of the Women Commission wrote to the Twitter India Grievance Officer. She asked the Twitter India resident grievance officer to delete the account of Siddharth.
Siddharth tweeted again today clarifying his controversial tweets. He tweeted that his comments were distorted and he was referring to Cock and Bull stories. He asked people not to interpret his tweets in any other way and asserted that he did not comment with any malice. Saina Nehwal reacted to this, where she said that the actor could have used better words to express.
Subtle cock champion of the world... Thank God we have protectors of India. ??
