In the list, the latest cases involve those of Marredpally Station House Officer K Nageshwar Rao and Malkajgiri CCS sub-inspector Vijay Dharavath.But it has to be noted that in the past, it was mostly low-rung personnel like constables who committed crimes. However, nowadays, those in higher positions too are going rogue. Despite this, strict action is being taken by senior officials to act tough on tainted cops and to boost the morale of those working sincerely in the department.Also, there have been instances when errant cops were let off for various reasons. For instance, in the case of Nageshwar Rao, he was let off due to his expertise in handling criminal cases and technology usage. On a normal day, disciplinary proceedings and punishment were based on state enactments, most of which were based on the Police Act of 1861, Victorian-era legislation under which disciplining the police was not such a priority.

Integrated electric mobility and charging solutions firm Magenta Mobility has stated that it will be deploying electric vehicles fleet and charging facilities in Hyderabad in collaboration with Amazon India. According to a press release by Magenta Mobility, the tie-up, under which it will deploy electric three and four-wheelers for its delivery partners, marks the company’s formal entry into the Telangana capital.In 2020, as per a commitment to achieve net-zero carbon by 2040, Amazon India announced that it would include 10,000 EVs in its delivery fleet by 2025 as part of its overall progress towards The Climate Pledge. Another 1 lakh EVs will be delivered by Amazon by 2030.“The launch in Hyderabad is a continuation of our collaboration with Amazon that started in Bengaluru and will help transform a significant number of Amazon’s last-mile delivery fleet to EV and encourage the e-commerce industry to decarbonize last-mile logistics,” says Maxson Lewis, founder, managing director of Magenta Mobility.The MNC is also committed to building a supply chain that will minimize the environmental impact of its operations and add to its goal of inducting 10,000 EVs to the fleet by 2025. “This collaboration is an important step towards building an enabling ecosystem to drive transportation and further driving more sustainable operations in Hyderabad, an important locale for us,” adds Lewis.

Hyderabad police have nabbed a man named Syed Gohar Chishty. Reportedly, a case has been filed against Syed, who looks after Ajmer Dargah Khadim at Ajmer in Jaipur, for his hate speech last month.As per the latest reports, Syed Gohar Chishty was arrested by the Hyderabad Begum Bazar cops on Thursday. After tracking the whereabouts of Syed, the Jaipur police communicated with the Telangana cops, first took a bangle seller Munawar for giving shelter to cleric aka Syed Gohar Chishty, and later tracked Syed with the help of Munawar, a resident of Goshamahal.Reportedly, Syed is taken to Rajasthan from Hyderabad, and even Munawar is taken along with him. Along with Syed and Munawar, five other people named Fakhar Jamali, Tajima, Siddiqui, Moeen, and Riyaz Hasan are taken into custody and are being grilled in the hate speech delivered by Syed last month.

A girl named Sakireddy Varshini, a first-year B.Tech student studying at Kandlakoya CMR Technical Campus in Medchal-Malkajgiri district, went missing at the college premises and was tracked in Mumbai.As per the reports, like the other day, Varshini went to college on her cousin Vamsi Mohan Reddy's bike, but soon after reaching the college, she took permission and went out at 10 am saying that her ID card and phone were missing from her. Later, she never returned back. The proceedings led to the missing case filed by Varshini parents at Medchal police station as she didn't even go home. In the complaint, Varshini's father, Sivaji, mentioned that his daughter is her phone or any money with her.Taking the written complaint as proof, the cops started an intense search and first traced the nearby college bakery CCTV footage in which Varshini is seen going out of the college with a bag. Later, on Saturday, Varshini's younger sister got an alert notification stating that her Instagram account was being used from some other device in Mumbai. Soon after the police received this message from Shivaji, they contacted Mumbai police and eventually traced her within the limits of Kalyan Durg Railway station. Later, Varshini is sent to Hyderabad with full security, and the Medchal cops enquiring about why Varshini left her home state and went to Mumbai.

On Tuesday night, a Nepali gang struck the house of a businessman at Kukatpally and decamped with gold, cash, and silver ornaments. Damodar Rao, the house owner, had appointed a Nepali couple a few months ago. The couple was allotted a place to stay in the servant quarters in the house.Around 8 pm on Tuesday, Damodar and his family went to a function and returned around 11 pm to find the Nepali couple missing, and cupboards ransacked.The police say that four days ago, one more person was introduced to Damodar as their relative who had come to meet them, and he started staying with them.The police added that the CCTV feed shows that they are seen moving from one bedroom to another. While leaving the house with the property, they took away a WiFi router, mistaking it for the DVR.&nbsp;The police found the offenders took an auto-rickshaw towards Moosapet. Three police teams were formed to track them.

The Mumbai-Pune-Hyderabad high-speed rail corridor has been shown on about 70% of the proposed hyperloop route on the Pune-Mumbai route. The city is witnessing heavy rains, and Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewage Board (HMWS&amp;SB) has adopted a three-step chlorination process to make sure that quality drinking water is supplied amid heavy rainfall in the city. Given that one needs to take great care during the season, officials visited several areas under the Pattigadda water reservoir in Begumpet and tested drinking water quality.In the first phase, the chlorination process is being carried out at the water treatment plants (WTP). In the second phase, chlorination is being done at the main balancing reservoirs (MBR), and booster chlorination is being done at the service reservoirs because of heavy rains.He said precautions are being taken to ensure there is exactly 0.5 PPM (Parts Per Million) chlorine in the water supplied to people. The officials have directed water board officials to be on alert given incessant rains in the city. The water board is paying special attention to drinking water quality and added that special measures are being taken to prevent water contamination. Due to heavy rains, about 15,000 chlorine tests are being done across the city every day. Special attention is being paid to slum areas, flood-affected areas, and low-lying areas of the city.The Board is also distributing chlorine tablets to purify stored water. Awareness programs have also been carried out to purify drinking water using chlorine tablets to prevent water-borne diseases. The Board has formed 16 ‘monsoon safety’ teams which will provide round-the-clock service. Also, 16 mini-air-tech vehicles have been made available.Opening manholes is an offense under Section 74 of the Water Board Act, and a criminal case will be registered if anyone opens the manhole cover. Corona has created a stir at IIT Hyderabad. At IIT Hyderabad in Kandi, Sangareddy district, 119 students and staff were diagnosed Corona positive. After symptoms in some students, suspected students and staff underwent tests and 119 people were found to be infected with the corona at the same time.Forty-Five of them - 22 undergraduate students, 14 postgraduate students, seven research scholars, one regular staff member, and an outsourced plumber - tested positive on Tuesday and the remaining 74 tested positive over the past week. Some more reports are yet to arrive. Authorities were alerted.Corona infected people are kept in special isolation wards on the top floor of the hostels in the IIT campus. The remaining students are upset about the college still functioning and the authorities keeping all their requests to leave the campus on hold. Doctors are attending to the infected students. Students are also blaming the institute for not starting the online classes."The authorities rejected every reasonable request from faculty and staff for online classes. There are classes of 190 students with many students not wearing masks. The director chose to listen to one Prof Vidyasagar who is an electrical engineer and has no background in virology or epidemiology," a student told Nearby News on anonymity.
