Only a few days ago, Telangana Government has extended the Sankranthi holidays till the 30th of this month in the wake of increasing COVID-19 cases. Reports are that the Government is now considering allowing physical classes in schools and colleges. Medical and Health Department has forwarded a report to that extent to the State Government, sources say.
However, officials said education would be online and offline at the discretion of the parents, depending on the situation in the districts where COVID-19 is most prevalent. Telangana has an alarming positivity rate of over 20 percent but the department estimates that the third wave is likely to end in another ten days.
The Medical Health Department has reported to the CM KCR that all the examinations and entrance examinations can be conducted as per the schedule. Minister Harish Rao is reviewing this with the authorities. On Tuesday, the Chief Minister will hold a review with the officials of the Medical Health Department and the Education Department.
