On Valentine's Day, Parks in the city wore a deserted look with no couples venturing out. Indira Park, Sanjeevaiah Park, Necklace Road, Hussain Sagar area did not see an influx of couples which is usually the case everywhere. Police have set up security at the parks to avoid any untoward incidents.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal activists used to have a field day on February 14th every year. They used to get the couples married. But this year, their hulchul is also relatively less. This time, however, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal activists are acting differently than in the past.
The Bajrang Dal has made it clear that it will not do weddings for lovers. The Bajrang Dal has said that if the lovers are found, the lovers will have to pay tributes to the soldiers who were martyred in the Pulwama attack since the attack happened on the same day in 2019. They also announced counseling couples about how such a celebration is against our culture. Bajrang Dal activists staged a protest against Valentine's Day near Andhra Bank in Koti.
