Hyderabad Traffic police is making major changes in traffic rules in the twin cities of Hyderabad. Key decisions are taken to impose the speed limits as well as on the autos permit. It was decided to implement a scientific speed limit in the capital city. Speed limits were decided on the basis of one-way and two-way roads.
Vehicles were allowed to travel at speeds of up to 80 kilometers per hour on the PV Expressway and 100 kilometers per hour on the ORR, regardless of region. Police officials said that every vehicle should not go faster than 35 kmph anywhere in the colonies under GHMC. So far the vehicles are fined up to 1400 Rupees in case of violation.
But now, it was decided to impose fines less on bikes and more on heavy vehicles. The fines are like Rs. 300 for bikes, Rs.500 for autos, cars, and SUVs, and a fine of Rs.700 will be levied on buses, DCMs, lorries, and heavy vehicles. Also, the traffic police are changing the rules so that only Ola Autos registered in the twin cities can only ply in Hyderabad. Only OLA Autos with RTA Registration Series TS9 to TS12 are allowed to ply in Hyderabad. Ola Autos, which are registered in other areas, are not allowed in Hyderabad. It has been decided to hold a special drive on these from March 1st.
