Hyderabad
The All India Industrial Exhibition (AIIE), or Numaish as the locals call it, is all set to open from tomorrow, February 25, 2022. There will be 2000 stalls in all, out of which 1000 stalls will be from Lucknow, Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Kashmir.
But better be warned that it’s not going to the usual bargain this year as the traders have decided to make some profits this year. Traditionally, the Exhibition starts on January 1 and goes on till February 15. However, due to the increase in Omicron cases, the Exhibition was stalled this year. Now, with the number of cases subsiding, the state government has once again decided to start Numaish.
Like always, there will be stalls from various states of India and a whole lot of local shops, and people will have a huge variety to shop from. For a few years, there has been a steady decline in numbers as most stalls display cheap stuff. However, this year, the traders are hopeful that there will be increased footfall as there was no Exhibition last year owning to COVID.
However, it has to be remembered that the traders had to take back the stuff to their hometowns, and that cost them quite a bit of money. And with the new announcement, they have had to bring back their products, and this meant double the charges for transportation, incidental charges, and amount for setting up the stalls.
So, the stall-keepers feel that the shoppers will have to shell out extra costs as the expenditure will be distributed among different products.
