Hyderabad
The summer is already here and Temperatures in Hyderabad are rising. People are finding it hard to venture on roads in the afternoons and we can imagine the plight of the animals. Arrangements are in full swing at the Nehru Zoological party to keep the animals safe. About fifty coolers have been set up near the enclosures of tigers, lions, and leopards.
They will be operational round the clock to keep the animals cool. Arrangements have been made to use foggers and sprinklers to keep the animals and birds cool near the enclosures during the day. Coldwater is also being given to all the animals along with Glucon D, electrol power, thermocare liquid, and B complex syrup. All the animal enclosures are lined with wet gunny sheets and green mesh sheets.
A special diet was being supplied to the animals, to tackle the heat. This year, the zoo is seeing no shortage of drinking water. Curator Rajasekhar explained that more than 300 taps were installed to supply drinking water to the visitors from the newly installed water tanker next to the zoo entrance and another water tanker built opposite the elephant safari.
