Global Technology Giant Microsoft is set to set up the largest data center in Hyderabad with a massive investment of 15,000 Crore. The new data center will work alongside the already existing data centers in Pune, Mumbai, and Chennai in India. Microsoft is strategically setting up this data center to serve cloud and AI-based digital economy customers.
Services of this data center will include Microsoft portfolio services like Cloud, Data Solutions, Artificial Intelligence, Productivity Tools, and Customer Relationship Management. These services are available to businesses, startups, developers, educators, and government agencies.
The first phase is expected to be operational by 2025. According to a study, Microsoft data center regions in India contributed $9.5 billion in revenue to the economy between 2016 and 2020. Beyond GDP impact, the IDC report estimated 1.5 million jobs were added to the economy, including 169,000 new skilled IT jobs.
