On the occasion of International Women's Day, Hyderabad Police Commissionerate has witnessed a landmark development. For the first time in the history of the commissionerate, a woman CI was assigned police station responsibilities. On the occasion of Women's Day, for the first time in the history of the Hyderabad City Police, a woman CIs was given the charge of a police station as SHO.
Home Minister Mahmood Ali and city CP CV Anand attended the function and handed over the responsibilities to Madhulatha, a female CI. Madhulatha belongs to the 2002 batch. The 42-year-old native of Jagtial district is a post-graduate in economics from Osmania University. She also headed the first all-women police station set up in the region in 2014.
She took over as Lalaguda Law and Order PS Station House Officer and Circle Inspector. Hyderabad police commissioner C V Anand announced that more women officers would be appointed as SHOs of law-and-order police stations in the coming days. Across five zones, there are 60 L&O police stations and three women police stations under Hyderabad city police.
