The fate of a young man belonging to the city got distorted just two months after he went to Australia after getting a job with a good package. He lost his life drowning in a swimming pool. Rachakonda Srinivas of Secunderabad Regimental Bazaar and Aruna have a daughter and son Sai Surya Teja (25). Teja completed B Tech in the city and went to Australia in 2019 for MS. Later he joined the job as a civil engineer.
He underwent surgery in 2020 after being hit by a car while riding a two-wheeler and breaking his leg. Another surgery is scheduled for April. Doctors advised doing swimming for a speedy recovery. On the 7th of this month, he went for a swim in his own apartment in Brisbane. He accidentally slipped and fell into the water while swimming holding the railing. Parents who spoke to him on the phone that afternoon are shocked to know he is no more.
The parents were preparing to go to Australia to meet him as they could not see him after the surgery due to the pandemic and other reasons. The parents are set to leave for Australia on April 2nd for the time of the second surgery. His friends in Australia and the Telugu community are arranging for his body to be flown to Hyderabad. It will cost Rs 25-30 lakh and they will take care of everything themselves. The body is expected to arrive on the 14th and 15th of this month, family members said.
