On Monday, FlyBig Airlines launched its maiden flight service from Hyderabad to Gondia in Maharashtra. The service is part of the UDAN initiative, aiming to bolster travelers' regional connectivity to Tier II and Tier III cities.
The inaugural flight took off from Shamshabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Airport to Gondia. Along with FlyBig officials and other airport stakeholders, senior officials from GMR Hyderabad International Airport greeted the passengers at the terminal.
The FlyBig Flight no. S9401 will depart from GMR Hyderabad International Airport at 06:20 hrs. The return Fly Big Flight no. S9402 will arrive at Hyderabad at 13.50 hrs. FlyBig's Hyderabad – Gondia service will operate all seven days of the week. Hyderabad International Airport's number of domestic destinations has reached 70 with this service, while the pre-Covid number was 55.
Gondia is known as 'Rice City' as it has many rice mills. It is also famous for the Nagzira Wildlife Sanctuary, Navegaon National Park, Hazra Fall Kachargadh Caves, and other tourist spots in and around.
