There was a huge traffic jam in LB Nagar in the city with the visit of Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister, K Taraka Ramarao. Police stopped traffic in the wake of KTR’s arrival for the opening of the Bairamalguda flyover. This caused a traffic jam for about 3 km.
Motorists on the route from LB Nagar, Hayat Nagar, Nagol, and Kothapet faced severe difficulties. Police also stopped vehicles coming from the colonies. Two ambulances were also stuck in traffic. The people were outraged at the obstruction of traffic for Minister KTR’s visit. People were seen venting their anger on social media as well.
The Minister had inaugurated the right-hand side (RHS) of the Lal Bahadur (LB) Nagar underpass along with the left-hand side (LHS) of the Bairamalguda flyover which was constructed by GHMC at an estimated cost of Rs. 14.86 Crore. Both of them are the Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP) projects.
The underpass is expected to ease traffic at LB Nagar which is considered one of the busiest junctions of the city as it is an n important intersection as it acts as an entry and exit point for people commuting from Hyderabad to Vijayawada, Warangal, and Nalgonda. The underpass along with Bairamalguda’s LHS flyover will help in easing traffic congestion from Warangal and Nalgonda and Shamshabad airport towards Aramghar.
