Photos of cracks in PVNR Expressway pillars are going viral on social media for the last couple of days. Some have tagged Special Chief Secretary Urban development, Arvind Kumar, on Twitter, saying the pillars between 111 and 113 were cracked so that the metal inside could be seen.
HMDA officials responded to the matter. On Sunday, HMDA Chief Engineer BLN Reddy inspected the relevant pillars along with the engineering officers. HMDA Chief Engineer BLN Reddy said there was no danger to the PVNR Expressway pillars. He said the pillars had normal flakes and there was no danger with them.
"This is regular wear and tear. It happens all of the time. The internal structures are very strong There is nothing to worry about. Repairs will be made to such pillars. There is absolutely nothing to panic about. We request people to keep calm and not to spread such photos," the officials announced after the inspection.
