Women empowerment is the buzzword of the current generation, and there are women in all walks of life. So, it comes as no surprise that there are some dynamic and daring women who work for the Hyderabad Metro. However, this does not demean the efforts or time they put in to ensure that the Metro Rail runs smoothly and seamlessly.
For starters, there are loco pilots, as many would have already guessed. But barring them, there are others who look after many areas like announcing; one lady officer is an engineer, rather a senior system analyst, who looks after the CCTV and automatic fare collection systems. She happens to be an engineer by profession, but during her graduation days, she was demoralized as her classmates and mentors felt she would never find a job. This job is not just gratifying for her, but she also supports her family, which gives huge satisfaction to her.
Then there is this other woman who is a security guard in the Metro. While many frowned upon her decision, she feels there is nothing wrong with any profession. She, in fact, has become a role model in her community, where women are no longer tolerating domestic violence. She, too, supports her family of six.
Another lady happens to be someone who takes care of all the AFCs. She has had to give up her studies to earn through a convenience store, and her siblings had to do menial jobs. Today, she is a shoulder and breadwinner.
Whatever their role, all of them believe in doing their jobs with utmost dedication and want to prove that a woman can mold herself to handle tough situations in life.
