The Old City area in Hyderabad is famous for the shopping which goes past midnight. While this is happening for many years, there are a few incidents of police trying to shut the shops. We have seen local representatives getting into a tussle with the police over this. In the wake of this, Permission has been granted for night shopping during the month of Ramazan.
MIM MLAs and MLCs met city police commissioner CV Anand on Thursday. They appealed to the CP to allow traders to do business even at night during Ramazan. They brought to his notice most of them are petty and small Muslim traders and are heavily dependent on this season to make a decent living. To this extent, CP allowed night shopping.
He asked them to conduct business without disturbing the peace and security. Among those who met CP were MLAs Pasha Qadri, Jafar Hussain, Kauser Mohiuddin, and others. At another event, Home Minister Mahmood Ali also said that the government had given permission for businesses to operate at night during the month of Ramadan
