Ravindranath Tagore, Chairman of Jubilee Hills Co-operative House Building Society announced that an inquiry is happening into the irregularities. The Jubilee Hills Society General Body Meeting was held on Saturday at the Jubilee Hills Community Center on Road No 51. The meeting scheduled for last month was held on Saturday due to a lack of quorum to hold the General Body meeting.
"Those in power in the society for 20 years had been found guilty of several irregularities. We asked the government to conduct a comprehensive inquiry into those irregularities. The government agreed and ordered an inquiry under Section 51. A special officer has been appointed for the investigation," Ravindranath Tagore said.
Resolutions were passed at the meeting to make changes to some of the bylaws belonging to the Society. It was decided at the meeting to change the bylaw, delegating all power to the Managing Committee rather than only to the President and Secretaries. The society had also decided to cancel the leases of some properties which were allocated at a very low rent.
The meeting also voted to seize the illegally allotted nursery space and utilize it for the needs of the Society. The meeting was overseen by District Co-operation Officer Padma. Video recording of the entire meeting was done with the orders of the High Court.
