An alumnus of Osmania University has become a minister in the reorganization of the Andhra Pradesh cabinet. Chilakaluripet MLA Vidadhala Rajani was born in Hyderabad. She holds a BSc degree in Computer Science from Osmania University.
She completed her B.Sc in 2011 from St. Ann's Women's Degree College, Malkajgiri, and later did an MBA as well. She worked as an engineer in an IT company married to Kumaraswamy. The couple migrated to the United States for better opportunities. There they founded a Multinational Company Process Weaver Company in San Francisco.
For many years she served as a director and board member of the company. Rajani returned to the state from America and entered politics with TDP in 2014. With the encouragement of her husband Kumaraswamy, she founded the VR Foundation and ran a number of charity programs. She later joined the YSR Congress in 2018.
In the 2019 elections, she contested as a YSR Congress candidate from the Chilakaluripet constituency and won with a majority of 8301 votes over Former Minister Pathipati Pulla Rao. Rajani belongs to the Mudiraj community and has two children. Rajani has impressed Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy by being accessible to the people and effectively using social media.
