Hyderabad
The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad once again retained its tag of the most favored airport in South Central India since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Air traffic at the airport has risen from 9 percent in 2015 to 26 percent in 2022. It is the only airport where all 10 domestic airlines fly from.
The airport is also the first to recover from the pandemic blows when compared to the other airports in the country. The airport has flights connecting to 55 domestic airports in the Pre-COVID era and the number has gone up to 70 destinations now. Internationally the airport is connected to South Asia, Southeast Asia & the Middle East within a flying time of 4 hours.
That also helped the passengers going on long haul flights to the USA, Europe & Australia. " Hyderabad has the right mix of passenger traffic. Along with the MNCs and corporate, Hyderabad has strong VFR (Visiting Friends and Relatives), Tourists, MSME (Micro Small and Medium Enterprises), and student traffic. It is also the reason for the early recovery," the airport PR claims.
