It was indeed a good ending to the week that went by as The Summer Carnival by Unekha wrapped up on a high note. There was lots of good food, music, and shopping at Phoenix Arena, HITEC City. The event was open to all, and young IT professionals turned up in large numbers as the event was open for all.
The techies totally enjoyed the food and shopped till they dropped from various stalls that were set up on decorated floats. What was interesting was the fact that the carnival organizers curated the stalls that ranged from start-up brands to local artists to women-run businesses to give it a true flea market feel.
One could shop for arts and crafts, jewelry, handlooms, handmade products, and sustainable clothing stalls at the carnival. And to keep the audience busy, there was also a book reading session by author Devika Das who read Meghana, and author Divya Muraka, who read Purnah – The Complete Parent. An open mic session was also held for city-based independent musicians. The food stalls, too, were interesting as they served some delicious and nostalgic items such as popsicles, goli sodas, and fresh ice apples.
One of the visitors was rather excited to be part of the funfair. He came along with his dog Dusky and his friend and says he had a good time as he totally enjoyed the music; the vibe of the place lit up for the occasion. Another software techie shares that he got to know about the carnival just one night before the actual event. He dropped by with his family and says they simply loved the whole experience and looked forward to more such events.
