Hyderabad
The times are tough, and religion is being used to spew hatred among people. However, on the flip side, there are situations that show the oneness of humanity and the common bond of love that strings together people of all faiths.
One such story is that of a dargah and Sai Baba temple in Chaderghat. Both of them share a common wall, and for years, people have been visiting both places with utmost harmony. At the same time, the devotees of Baba throng the temple, devotees to the dargah queue up in lines.
There are many occasions during which the devotees of Baba go to dargah for a mannat, and devotees from dargah visit Baba for blessings. The two religious places symbolize the ganga jamuni tehzeeb of Hyderabad city, and the religious heads of both these places say that the camaraderie has been the same for generations.
The temple priest says the dargah has been around for about 80 years and adds that they all celebrate festivals together and are family friends to each other. And this year, an iftar was organized in the temple to showcase their friendship.
Mushir Khan, the founder of Freedom Again Foundation, organized the iftar and says he was very happy to see the harmony among people.
