Salary cuts are tormenting the GHMC sanitation workers big time. They are working hard for one month but are still failing to receive their full salary due to minor mistakes. Workers say the main reason for this is the biometric attendance system. This situation is due to the negligent attitude of the authorities.There are seven zones under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, of which there are thirty circles. It has about 8,000 workers. Of whom, three thousand have received cuts in their salaries. In some circles, some workers have lost almost 70 percent of their salaries. Workers whose salary is around 14,000 Per month had cuts ranging from 1,500 to 8,000 Rupees. GHMC sanitation workers are protesting against the system.It is said that the main reason for the non-receipt of these salaries is the biometric system. The contracting agency was supposed to correct the technical defects in the biometric machines but it continued with the old machines that were not working. Biometrics was taken on non-functioning machines and salary cuts were made even if there was a difference in time.Sanitation workers' normal working hours are from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. The timings were changed from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. due to high temperatures prevailing. The biometric attendance should be marked between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. But the machines are not accepting attendance after 5.30 a.m. As a result, many are marked as absent. Sanitation workers also seem to be absent due to improper use of biometric machines. Most of the workers are uneducated and there are no efforts to educate them about using these machines.

Hyderabad police have lathi-charged the fans of Tollywood hero, NTR. Friday (May 20) is NTR's 39th birthday. All the fans went to his house on Thursday night to wish him a happy birthday on the occasion. Doctors at Aware Gleneagles Global Hospital have achieved a rare feat by removing 206 stones that have formed in a patient’s kidney. The hospital doctors revealed the details on Thursday. Veeramalla Ramalakshmayya (56) from Nalgonda has been suffering from pain for six months. He was admitted to the Hospital in LB Nagar last month.&nbsp;Ramalakshmayya underwent a thorough examination under the supervision of senior urology doctor Pula Naveen Kumar and was diagnosed with stones in his left kidney. Doctors operated on Ramalakshmayya with a keyhole and removed 206 kidney stones within an hour. Ramalakshmayya, who was under medical supervision for two days, was discharged.&nbsp;Dr. Naveen Kumar was ably supported by Dr. Venu Manne, Consultant Urologist; Dr. Mohan, Anesthesiologist; and other members of the nursing and support staff. Doctors say that the problem of dehydration is more prevalent in summer and the problem is due to excessive sun exposure. Doctors recommend consuming large amounts of water and juices to say hydrated. They say that if the percentage of water is low, stones will form in the kidneys.

Trainers say the number of students attending two-wheeler driving schools has doubled after the pandemic. After the lockdown, many people thought it would be better to go in a private and own vehicle rather than public transport.They are looking to join the Scooty Driving Schools close to them. There are dozens of training schools in the city, each with 20 to 25 trainees. Learners say we spend half an hour, 40 minutes learning Scooty every day. Now that schools, colleges, and offices are all open. Women are keen on being self-reliant rather than relying on men in the home. Women are learning Scooty for things like dropping off children, bringing them back, picking up supplies, and going out on other errands.Among those learning are working women as well as housewives. Driving School Owners say housewives make up more than 70 percent of all learners. They are showing interest in Scooty learning as schools are not providing transportation and auto rents are doubled. Driving school owners are training with their own scooters. Courses are for 10 days and 15 days and are charging 3000-6000 Rupees for this.

Two Wheeler Driving Schools Becoming Popular

SR Nagar police have arrested a young man for behaving indecently in front of women in a metro station lift. According to Inspector Saeed, a 23-year-old woman from Khairatabad boarded a lift from Ameerpet metro station on Tuesday to return to Khairatabad after shopping in Ameerpet.&nbsp;Raju (19), a young man, entered the elevator behind her. He undressed and started behaving inappropriately. He even used expletives against the woman. The victim ran out of the elevator and was brought to the attention of Metro staff. The staff caught hold of Raju and handed him over to the police.&nbsp;Police found that Raju who is from Odisha was staying there and is behaving indecently in front of women who were alone in the metro station elevator. Raju was arrested and remanded in custody. The CCTV footage available there could be used as evidence against Raju. The rest of the details of the case are yet to be known.

Man Arrested For Undressing Before Woman In Metro Lift

Pedestrians can not walk safely in the city due to the lack of proper footpaths. In places where they are present, they were occupied by traders. Of the 9,013 km of city roads, only 430 km have footpaths. It is noteworthy that footpaths were not present even for 10% of the total roads. Thousands of pedestrians are walking on the roads.&nbsp;However, the state government and the GHMC do not take it seriously. No action has been taken for the construction of new footpaths and the removal of old encroachments. Greater Hyderabad has 2,846 km of BT roads and 6,167 km of CC roads. About 4,500 km of footpaths were to be built, leaving small alleys and colony roads. But there are currently only 430 kilometers of footpaths across the city.&nbsp;There are no footpaths in the congested areas like Panjagutta, Begumpet, Ameerpet, Erragadda, Kukatpally, Koti, Abids, and Dilsukhnagar. Except at metro stations, there are no footpaths in these areas. Although built in some places, they have government-provided toilets, feed the need fridges, stalls, and bus stops. Along with government stalls, shops like Panipuri, Chatbandar, Tempered Glass Stand, Fast Food centers, Teas, Vegetables, Clothes, Sandals, and Mechanic Shops occupy the footpaths. As a result, pedestrians are having trouble walking on the roads.Although GHMC says it has a special focus on footpath encroachments and drives, it does not appear to be so at the field level. Even if the drives are taken, again for two days the occupations are going on as usual. The High Court has repeatedly issued orders on the condition of footpaths in the city but there is no serious action. In 2021, more than 150 pedestrians were killed within the City's three Police Commissionerates. Many were hospitalized.

Telangana Police have recently launched a Challan Clearance offer and offered a discount of as much as 75% to clear challans pending for a long time. The scheme which was in effect for around two months got a good response.Of the Rs 1,700 crore worth of pending challans, Rs 1,400 crore was collected. Rs 312 crore was collected after the discount.&nbsp;Now the department is mooting another scheme which will be in force forever. Going forward, whenever a challan is imposed, the vehicle owner will get a discount of 20% if it is paid within one month of its imposition.&nbsp;This scheme will ensure that vehicle owners do not pile up the challans for a later date. The scheme is still in the proposal stage and will be implemented as soon as the department gets nod from the Government. This scheme will make the violators more responsible, the department opines.

The state government has asked all breweries to increase their production as the demand in June is expected to be 40 lakh cases. Given this spike, the government will get an exchequer of Rs 150 crore. If the demand continues, Telangana state will be on top of the list for highest consumption this year.Of the 2700 crore that the government made, Rs 750 crore came from beer, and the figure is likely to touch Rs 1000 crore in May. The government has also said that the districts of Hyderabad and Rangareddy have been demanding more beer. With sudden demand, the breweries are working in two shifts to meet the requirement.

A Farmer from Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh brought smiles to the faces of patients at a government hospital in Kondapur on Wednesday. He sent a consignment of 1,000 kgs of mangoes to patients and their families. He sent the consignment in nearly packed cartons to Malleshwar Rao Nemani, an IT professional, who is known for his ‘don’t waste food’ campaign.Malleshwar Rao says he neither knows the donor nor was contacted by him. The farmer asked him to distribute the mangoes to the poor and Malleshwar Rao decided to do that at the government area hospital at Kondapur.&nbsp;"There are many pregnant women n the hospital. So, I thought it is good to give them the mangoes," Malleshwar Rao said. The Banganapalle variety of mangoes are not leftovers nor are they damaged. All of them are in very good condition and can easily fetch 80 to 120 Rupees per Kg in the market. The fruits were distributed to 500 people in the hospital on Wednesday, much to the delight of the patients and their attendants.
