Health Minister Harish Rao has launched a three times a day meal program at eighteen government hospitals under GHMC. He said about 20,000 people dine in the eighteen hospitals every day. They have entered into an agreement with Hare Rama Hare Krishna company has entered. The state government is spending Rs 21 per plate. Night shelters will be available soon.
Minister Harish Rao said that a special focus is being laid on the health sector. He said 40 ICU beds have been opened in Osmania and another 30 will be available soon. Osmania Hospital will be developed in all respects and steps will be taken to ensure better treatment for the patients, he assured. "A committee will be set up to construct a new building in Osmania as per the directions of the Chief Minister and a new building would be constructed soon irrespective of the Heritage Building," Harish Rao said.
"In the united state, worm-infested ration rice used to be given to the beneficiaries, but in the state of Telangana, we are providing polished rice after the arrival of the KCR government. Only in Telangana, BC and SC hostels are serving meals to students with polished rice. We are giving a pension of Rs. 2016 for the elderly. Schemes like Kalyana Lakshmi and Shadi Mubarak were brought for girls during marriage. The diet charge for patients in hospitals has also been increased," the minister added.
