Hyderabad
Hyderabad police are preparing to make rules strict against those violating traffic rules. Until now, vehicle inspections were carried out by the Hyderabad Traffic Police only during daylight hours. Traffic Joint Commissioner of Police EV Ranganath said the vehicles would be inspected from now on even till midnight. It was clarified that fines would be imposed on those who violated the midnight regulations. Motorists usually follow the rules during the day that the police carry out inspections. Police set up teams in the area to carry out inspections. Vehicles were stopped and fined for doing triple riding, even without documents and helmets.
Traffic police are seizing vehicles with more than three challans. These inspections have so far been carried out by the police from morning till evening and the teams would leave after the evening. But as road accidents in the city are increasing day by day, Joint Police Commissioner Traffic AV Ranganath decided to inspect vehicles even at night and take strict action against those violating the regulations. The traffic police will continue to inspect vehicles in the city even after midnight. In the absence of this in the past, motorists often violate the rules. Most motorists do not even obey the traffic rules at night since the police are not watching.
Hyderabad police usually conduct drink and drive checks till 12 AM at night. It is learned that from now on the Hyderabad traffic police will be operating till dawn. Many people die in road accidents due to drunk driving. Recently, two workers crossing the road at Banjara Hills Rainbow Hospital were killed on the spot when they were hit by a car under the influence of alcohol. The incident took place just after midnight when the patrolling police arrested the accused. The drunkards were driving under the influence of alcohol as the drink and drive did not take place after midnight. Knowing that the police do not carry out inspections, they come on the roads with cars under the influence of alcohol and create terror. Innocent people are losing their lives.
