Hyderabad
Almost two and half years back, the construction of a multi-level flyover at Kothaguda junction kick-started. Initially, the project got delayed due to issues such as land acquisition and gaps between various departments in the coordination work. Amid a lot of disturbances, the works were started under Strategic Road Development Programme( SRDP) by the GHMC authorities. The main aim of the flyover is to reduce traffic between Kothaguda and Kondapur.
As a fact check, the delay in the flyover work has turned into a major problem for the commuters as the traffic jams during the working hours with long U-turns are literally showing hell. The people who go through the same route to Durgam Cheruvu and towards DLF from AMB Cinemas have to wait for long hours to cross the traffic signals. As per the GHMC officials' version, the project was mainly got delayed due to the acquisition of one acre of forest land from the forest department.
As per the available data, the flyover is to be built with an estimated cost of Rs 263.09 crore by Stup Consultants Pvt Ltd, but the construction company has been doing work at a nail speed for the past two years. If the project is completed and comes to usage, it will connect SLN Terminus and Botanical Garden, which lead to the Kothaguda junction.
