Cybercrimes are currently a threat to the citizens living in the city. Fraudsters are leaving no stone unturned to loot the public in all possible ways. In a fresh scam, a person who is a resident of Nallakunta and worked in different countries was trapped in investing in cryptocurrency by an unknown person.
Reportedly, the NRI approached Cybercrime, stating that a person of Rs 2.5 crore had duped him in the name of fake cryptocurrency on Saturday. Police suspect that there might be any Nigerian fraudsters in the entire scam. The victim said that investing in cryptocurrency was safe; he invested a total of USD 323,000 (2.57 Cr) on various platforms in cryptocurrency.
As per the victim's version, he returned to India for his mother's treatment and planned to withdraw the money from his various cryptocurrency wallets for his mother's treatment, but he was shocked to see that the amount of Rs 2.57 crore invested in various cryptocurrency are not available now and his personal details are also completely erased. The cyber crime department logged in a complaint, and the investigation is going into this major scam.
