Rachakonda cyber crime police have arrested a young man for harassing girls by calling them 2,000 times a day. According to police, Petla Santosh, an engineering student from Mahabubnagar, Palsabgutta village, reads profiles of girls on matrimonial websites, calls them, and introduces himself as a celebrity and TV serial artist.
He tells them he earns Rs 70,000 per month and within a few days of introduction, he convinces them he will get them government jobs. In this way, a girl fell into his trap. Later, she came to know that she got deceived and tried to keep him away. With this, the miscreant is harassing her by making phone calls 1500 to 2,000 times a day.
When she did not respond, he texted one of her relatives. A close relative of the victim spoke to him on the phone, he made her believe that he would get her son a government job. He took almost Rs 3.03 lakh from the victim's relative and switched off the phone. Rachakonda cyber crime police are investigating the case following a complaint by the victim. The accused Santosh was arrested on Tuesday.
