Police have recently arrested three people from the city as they have been suspected of the murder of a 63-year-old French lady living in the city for a long time now. The woman's body was discovered near Himayatsagar after she was reported to be missing for two days.
The deceased, A french national, is recognized as Marie Christine. She moved to the city in 1991 and established Marica high schools at Toli Chowki and Dargha Khalij Khan village to provide accessible and affordable education. Late Marie had two biological daughters, one residing in the city and the other settled in Pondicherry. Apart from this, the deceased had adopted two girls Roma and Priyanka.
The deceased had planned to get the adopted daughter Roma married, for which she was signed up into a Christian Matrimonial site. Still, Roma had other plans as she got acquainted with a guy from Anantapur named Vikram, and they both moved into a live-in at Kondapur. However, the late Marie disapproved of their relationship, for which Roma, Vikram, and a friend of Vikram identified as Rahul decided to kill her and access her property and money.
The trio planned murder as Roma reached the deceased home on the evening of September 8, after which Roma was dropped by Christine, during which Vikram and Rahul entered the house and waited by the bathroom. When Christine returned home and approached her bathroom, these two men strangulated her to death and later dumped her body near Himayatsagar. These killers also took away her laptop, car, few papers and got Rs.2 Lakh transferred to Roma's account the next day.
The son-in-law of Marie's biological daughter in the city, Prashanth, tried to question Roma and find out her whereabouts, which Roma denied knowing. The son-in-law filed a police complaint at Rajendranagar Police station. The Cyberabad Police took this investigation and tracked these three accused, and arrested them. After constant interrogation, Roma confessed to the murder plot and revealed every detail and how her partner and his friend helped her get rid of her. Currently, the accused are in judicial custody, and soon, court proceedings will follow.
