In an incident that makes one wonder about trust and relationships, one sister carried out theft in the house of her elder sister in Rahmat Nagar in the city. The Jubilee Hills police have arrested the duo who committed the crime and took them into custody. One Vijaya left for her village and before doing so, locked the house and gave the keys to her sister Jyothi, who lives nearby in Karmika Nagar. After Vijaya left, Jyothi and her childhood friend Raju carried out the theft at Vijaya’s house and they took home 25 tolas of gold after breaking open the almirah.
However, when Vijaya returned home, she immediately doubted Chinta Raju and lodged a complaint with the police. The crime branch police took Raju into custody and found that Jyothi was an accomplice. The police also figured out that both of them planned the entire operation in advance. Once Raju and Jyothi stole the jewels, they pawned them with Muthoot Finance and Mannapuram Finance Limited and got Rs 4 lakh in cash.
The inquiry was conducted by Jubilee Hills crime inspector Ramesh and the case was registered by SI Harishwar Reddy.
