It is indeed a tricky situation for single women, mostly divorcees or widows, who want to get married for a second time. Though there are many matrimonial sites these days, and second marriage is no longer considered a taboo in society, many women still fall into the trap of people with fake Ids on the websites. One such person happens to be Korandla Kiran kumar Reddy.
In fact, this person posing as a civil engineer in L&T Company put up a profile on a matrimonial site and lured about 14 women into giving money and jewels to him. The modus operandi was the same for all. The 29-year-old, who belongs to Incharla in Mulugu district, put up his ad on various matrimonial sites saying he was looking for second marriage.
He mainly trapped divorcees and women who lost their husbands and cheated them of Rs 30 lakh and 10 tolas of gold. However, his mischief resulted in a tragedy wherein a woman committed suicide right in front of her son. The woman who belongs to Karimnagar was living with her son along with her family in Nizampet after her husband left her.
Once she realized she was trapped, she approached Bachupalli police and registered a case against Kiran Kumar Reddy. So, the desperate woman approached Sakshi, and an article under the title ‘Ontari mahilale target’ was published by the newspaper. However, the police barely responded. The woman was totally distraught, and she ended her life in front of her son by hanging herself.
Another woman approached Rachakonda police to complain against Kirankumar Reddy, and all she got was ridicule from the police there. Instead of taking action, they asked her as to why she gave money to the accused.
The lady then approached Sakshi to tell her story and how the police ill-treated her.
