The Forest Department has come hard on a real estate company as they have allegedly chopped and uprooted more than 65 trees in Chilkur, Moinabad. The real estate company day after chopped all the trees for an unknown purpose and was fined Rs. 4Lakh by the forest department.
The real estate company officials have no permission to raze these trees and bribe multiple people to get the machinery and men for the process. The Forest department officials are suspecting the cause of cutting down these trees to be creating more lands that these real estate guys could put a desirable cap on and sell to people.
Even after residents' objections and few local activists, the agents did not stop chopping trees and continued to create chaos. The residents finally called the police and the Forest Department officials to come and review the situation.
Based on what the forest officials saw, they were convinced that chopping is a part of clearing land with a plan to sell to people for residential purposes. Therefore, the Forest department ordered an immediate stop to their work and penalized them Rs. 4 Lakh under the Water Land And Trees Act 2002 and has ordered a probe into their reason for the uncontrolled uprooting of trees.
