Police raids are finally back on track as the law enforcement is now catching smugglers and peddlers red-handed trying to supply, procure or sell the contraband to various people in the city. The Habeebnagar police recently arrested a 22-year old youth possessing 1.2 Kg weed, also known as ganja. The accused named a partner of his who has a larger quantity of contraband but is on the run.
The Habeebnagar police were out on their patrolling duty when they noticed two men on a motor vehicle suspiciously holding a cover. When these men noticed the police, the pillion rider immediately jumped out of the bike and ran away, leaving the rider caught by the police with the pack of weed. The arrested guy who was riding the motorcycle is identified as Vinod.
The entire incident took place on Charkandil X Road at Aghapura. The police took Vinod to interrogate and found out that he and his partner purchased the contraband from an unidentified dealer at Dhoolpet for Rs. 6000 per kilo and purchased worth Rs.6600/- of ganja were scheduled to sell it at Charkandil. However, the police are on the lookout for the guy who escaped and, on interrogation from Vinod, learned that the other suspect has a larger quantity of weed.
