State president of the Telangana Vidhyarthi Sangam (TVS) and a Ph.D. scholar from the Osmania University, Hyderabad, is now under police custody for his alleged links with the CPI(Maoist party), which is currently outlawed. He was responsible for influencing people to join the party.
According to the police, the scholar was arrested two years ago in connection with a case registered under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA). The fresh arrest of the scholar was made at LB Nagar due to influencing people to join the party. The scholar is recognized as Srinivas Goud, a resident of Warsiguda and a native of the Peddapalli district. Srinivas's primary role was to influence youngsters to join the party and collect money for the growth of the party and many other roles as per the leaders' instructions.
The police have found out that Srinivas Goud is a well-known name in Maoist active states like Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa, and Madhya Pradesh and knows a lot of influential people in those states who are running the party in the above states.
The arrest of the scholar and his little interrogation has led to the arrest of 13 more people associated with the latter at LB Nagar. He will remain at LB Nagar police custody and will be further moved to a higher security facility before court proceedings.
