The High Court issued notices to ten pubs in the city. The court directed officials to rein the violating pubs by the 31st of this month. A petition challenging the decision to allow pubs in a residential area was heard in the High Court on Wednesday. The Court issued notices to ten pubs in this regard.
The court adjourned the next hearing to the 29th of this month, directing the Excise and Enforcement Department to file a full counter on all these ten pubs, saying they were in fully populated areas and had become too inconvenient for the public.
Members of the Jubilee Hills Residents Green And Clean Association have filed the petition strongly objecting to the permission given for setting up bars, pubs, restaurants, and coffee shops in the residential areas located in road numbers 36, 41, 44, 45, and 55 of Jubilee Hills.
The pubs include 800 Jubilee pub, Farzi café, Amnesia Lounge Bar, Hy Life Brewing Company, Daily Dose Bar Hop, Dirty Martini Kitchen and Cocktail Bar, Broadway - the Brewery, Makobrew World Coffee, and Heart Coffee shop, located in the CBI Colony of Road 36 and 45. They also complain that the pubs are violating the Noise (Regulation and Control) Act by playing loud music till 3 AM.
