A van driver belonging to an ATM Refill firm fled with Rs 36 lakh. The incident took place on Saturday evening at Suraram Saibaba Nagar under Hyderabad Dundigal Police Station. Police, who have registered a case in this regard, have launched a manhunt for the accused.
Custodians, Nitin, Ranjit, gunman Babu, and driver Sagar left in a vehicle belonging to Writer's Company on Saturday with Rs 64 lakh in cash to several ATMs in Hyderabad. Custodians initially filled an ATM with Rs. 13 lakh. Later, they reached another Axis Bank ATM point in Saibaba Nagar in Suraram Colony to fill 15 lakhs.
Two custodians went inside carrying 15 lakhs. Gunman Babu, who was with the ATM vehicle at the time, was guarding outside the ATM. Driver Sagar said that he would come back taking a U-turn and drive the vehicle from there. He fled with 36 Lakh Rupees. The custodians called Sagar shortly after their arrival, but when his mobile was switched off. They immediately informed the police.
With this, the police entered the field and carried out a search operation in Hyderabad for Sagar. Sagar's vehicle movements were monitored with the help of CCTV cameras there. Teams are busy searching for his whereabouts. Police said the money would be recovered soon.
