A software engineer committing suicide in Gachibowli police station limits has become a sensation. Smriti Rekha Farida, 26, of Bhubaneswar, Odisha, lives in a PG hostel in Gowlidoddi of Gachibowli. The young woman is working as a software engineer in a software company in Gachibowli. 

She called a colleague, John on Monday and told him that she does not want to live. She later committed suicide by hanging herself on a fan in her hostel room. Upon learning of the incident, the police reached there and shifted the body to Osmania Hospital for postmortem. 

Her parents in Odisha were informed as well. The reasons for suicide need to be known. The police who registered the case are investigating. They are also questioning John regarding what Smriti told to him. John says he did not take Smriti's words seriously and did not expect her to go to that extent.
