A woman was allegedly raped in a moving bus in Kukatpally police station limits on Saturday. According to the complaint given to the police, a 29-year-old woman from Akiveedu, West Godavari district in AP, lives in Parvathnagar near Madhapur and works at a baby care center. On the 23rd of this month, she made a reservation to go to her hometown by train.
She tried to book the luggage on V. Kaveri Travels bus at Metro. However, bus driver Rajesh (35) put the luggage on the bus and asked how she was going. The driver asked her to come on the bus and said without which the luggage can not be booked. With this, she boarded the same bus. For her and the luggage, the driver charged Rs.700. He then gave her a seat in the rear end of the bus.
Rajesh approached her in the middle of the trip and told her that he will also sit in the seat just beside her's as another driver was driving the bus. As soon as she agreed, the accused allegedly put the knife on her neck and raped her. She landed on Eluru Road the same day and returned to Hyderabad to lodge a complaint with the Kukatpally police. According to the victim's complaint, the police registered a case and arrested the accused Rajesh. Police said an investigation is underway.
