A Nalgonda-based singer, Jatavath Mohan (22), known for his Banjara songs on social media platforms, committed suicide in Hyderabad. On late Tuesday night, Mohan was found hanging in his rented room in Saidabad, the police said. According to K Subbarami Reddy, Inspector, Saidabad police station, a case has been registered, and investigation has begun.
Jatavath Mohan's songs in the Banjara dialect are a huge hit among the Banjara community. The police said that Mohan belonged to Pilligundla tanda of Tirumalagiri Mandal in the Nalgonda district. He was studying in Hyderabad and residing in Reddy Basthi of Saidabad. He called up a friend to inform him that he was hanging himself on Tuesday night. His friend immediately alerted the cops through a Dial 100 call, and patrol teams rushed to the spot, but of no use.
A note purportedly written by Mohan from the spot was also recovered by the police. The note stated that he was feeling sick and asked his parents to forgive him for taking the extreme step. Other belongings and the note were seized for further investigation.
