On Sunday, the police arrested three people for stealing an iron-framed Sulabh toilet box from Safilguda crossroads.
The CI Jagadeeshwara Rao and Malkajgiri circle vice-commissioner Raju says, "On March 16, the Sulabh toilet box at the Safilguda crossroads went missing. The sanitation workers were the first to notice that the complex was missing. They immediately informed the matter to the higher authorities, who alerted the police officials."
The police reached the spot to take up an investigation. After verifying the CCTV footage, they identified the accused as Mupparam Jogaiah (36), a native of Ammasagar of Andole Mandal in Medak district. Jogaiah confessed to the crime and said that he committed the mistake with the help of his friend Arun Kumar, who works at GHMC office headquarters, and another Bikshapati who works at Jain constructions.
The accused said to have sold the Sulabh toilet box for Rs 45,000. Jogaiah was sent to judicial remand.
