Hyderabad
Summer time is the time when most property thefts happen in cities. These are times when gangs keep track of who are going on long vacations and then break into their homes. But now, the police have decided to put a stop to such thefts that can cost the owners a lot of money and result in trauma.
A senior official from the Hyderabad Detective Department shares that they have started monitoring the movements of known gangs and are trying to prevent new ones from entering the scene. In fact, the city police teams, including the central crime station, task force, and local police, have a database of offenders who were involved in thefts in the past.
The database is constantly updated, and it has all details of the offenders, like their names, family history, place of stay, friends, acquaintances, habits, professional associates, fingerprints, and pictures. As for interstate gangs, the local police are constantly in touch with police teams from other states. Thanks to these coordinated efforts, such gangs haven’t entered the city, at least till now. In the past, the mobiles of offenders could be tracked, but now, the offenders have stopped using mobiles to contact each other, posing a new issue for the police.
The police are also requesting citizens to have CCTV cameras on their premises and get them connected to their mobiles so they can keep track of the movements in their houses.
All station house officers, Blue Colt teams, and police patrol vehicles are on full alert in the city.
