In the wake of the increasing Coronavirus cases in the state, the Telangana government has decided to temporarily close all educational institutions - public and private, across state from Wednesday (March 24th). The decision is taken based on concerns raised by parents.
All institutions in state will remain closed except for the medical colleges. This has been on cards for a while as educational institutions are turning into super spreaders for the contagious virus. There are rumors of a possible Lockdown or night curfew but the state government has decided to wait further.
For the first time in 2021, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits reported 100+ cases of COVID-19. On Monday, the state detected 103 cases of Covid-19 in the state capital region. The last time Telangana saw 100+ cases was in the month of December 2020. The total cases in the state are 412. Most of these cases are attributed to the increase in cases in government schools and residential schools.
