They say matches are made in heaven. And cricketer Rohit Damodharan has scored a match point by being chosen by top south-Indian director Shankar as the groom for his elder daughter.
His elder daughter married Rohit Damodharan in grand style on Sunday. However, the number of invitees was limited due to COVID restrictions. Only family, close friends and the first circle attended the traditional wedding that was held at Welcome Group Hotel on East Coast Road in Mahabalipuram. Though the wedding preparations were on for quite some time, nothing much was disclosed to the media till the big day. Shankar has three children Arjit, Aishwarya and Aditi.
Rohit’s father happens to be a well-known businessman Damodharan in Tamil Nadu who owns the Madurai Panthers team. Rohit is part of the Tamil Nadu Premier League and is the captain of Madurai Panthers. Shankar’s daughter Aishwarya is a doctor.
Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin and Udayanidhi Stalin attended the wedding along with Health minister Ma Subramaniam.
On the work front, Shankar is busy with completing Indian 2 with Kamal Haasan. He will follow it up with Ram Charan’s film in Telugu, which will be a pan-Indian film. Shankar is also doing a Bollywood film which is a remake of Aparichitudu with Ranveer Singh.
Once the COVID cases come down, Shankar will be hosting a reception for the Tamil film fraternity and other celebrities from across India.
